It all comes down to choice of venue for the style of decor that fits the bill. Church weddings tend to be more discreet and somber. Church goers and the clergy aren’t big fans of lots of fabulous decor. On the other hand, a civil ceremony can provide you with endless ideas and a much wider spectrum to fulfill your dreams.
Imagine that blank canvas of a marquee or the rustic charm of a converted barn. Then use your imagination, or let us do the work and create something that will blow you away.
As you can see from the pictures below, the ceremony barn at Merrydale Manor is a lovely place to get married. Once decorated though, it makes for possibly one of the finest wedding venues in the North West.
Incorporating trees into the ceremony design brings in not only a rustic theme, but it also provides a stunning overhead canopy to walk under. The ultimate dream ceremomy!
Think about the styling for the ceremony. After all, this is the most important part of the day. You don’t want to get this wrong. Use as much decor as you can from the rest of the day. So by all means have your centrepieces, candles and anything else you have at hand. Use them for the ceremony.
All this decor can be moved after the ceremony onto the tables for the wedding breakfast. This may incur added costs for staff to stay on site for the duration. Bear in mind though, the cost for staff to stay, is much less then dressing both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast room separately.
Same Room for both Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast
A different approach to your choosing of a venue can be to have both parts of the day in the same room. This can save on overall costs of having to use two separate areas. It can also allow you to keep the theme of the day running throughout.
As can be seen from the wedding we have done at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool from the pictures below. The West Bay Suite is of a generous size, so can accommodate for both sides of the day. Once the ceremony guests have exited the room following the newly married couple, we can do what we do best. Completely change the room around and set it up ready for the guests to come back in for the wedding breakfast.
