Gawsworth HallÂ
Gawsworth Hall was originaly a Norman house, but was rebuilt in 1480, and following extensive remodelling in 1701, it was the subject of the most famous duel in English history in 1712. Lord Mohun and the Duke of Hamilton fought over the estates and both duellists were killed.
This charming Tudor manor house is an awe inspiring venue. Not only do you get the nostalga of history through the ages but there is also an outdoor theatre that provides a spectacular backdrop for the British Shakespeare Theatre Group to perform their plays throughout the summer months.
