Many congratulations to Ellie and Jason on their big day at Mere Court Hotel. With both the Bride and Groom being good friends with us at Woodyatt Warner venue dressers, they asked us to provide the venue dressing for their wedding reception.
There was a definite idea in mind with Ellie looking for the Alice in Wonderland theme. By incorporating hanging playing cards, multi coloured drapes, a floral backdrop, pearls, pocket watches and old books, we transformed the conservatory into a unique setting ready for their arrival. The centrepieces were half white trees covered in a wide variety of décor including lighting and flowers to match the ice blue colour scheme and half old school books and jugs with pearls to tie in with the theming.
The most unique part of the décor was the backdrop we created. By positioning it directly behind the top table and framing it with a flowers and foliage, the floral backdrop completed the room off beautifully, and apart from the Bride and Groom, was the main focal point in the room. The ideas continued into the garden with an abundance of lighting from lanterns to fairy lights and books hanging from the branches in the trees. We could say that even the Cheshire Cat was there, especially with Jason grinning from ear to ear in anticipation of marrying Ellie.
A very different wedding for a very unique couple. We wouldn’t have missed it for the world, and wish both Mr & Mrs Pennington the very best for the future.
